ज्योतिष का प्रमुख उद्देश्य आने वाली घटनाओं को बताना ही नहीं वरन आने वाले कष्टों से रक्षा और लाभ पहुंचना है l जन्म कुण्डली में विभिन्न भावो में स्थित ग्रहो का शुभाशुभ फल जातक को जीवन भर मिलता रहता है l परन्तु उनका विशेष फल महादशा, अन्तर्दशा की अवधि में मिलता है l अत: यथार्थ फल की जानकारी के लिए ग्रह, गोचर और ग्रह की महादशा अन्तर्दशा पर विशेष ध्यान देना चाहिए l
अनिष्ट ग्रहो की शांति के लिए हमारे ऋषियों ने अनेक प्रकार के यंत्र, तंत्र, मंत्र, एवं जड़ी -बूटियों द्वारा उपाए बताए है l इनमे मंत्र जाप सर्वोपरि है l इसके पश्चात हवन, दान, रत्न धारण करना आदि है l वर्तमान समय में लाल किताब के अनुभूत, उपाय कम खर्चे के और सरल है जिनके द्वारा भी कठिन से कठिन समस्या का समाधान हो जाता है l यदि मंत्र जप करने में कठिनाई आए तो अनिष्ट ग्रह के अशुभ फल से बचने के लिए 'ग्रह की वस्तु का दान, व्रत, रत्न धारण कर लाभ उठा सकते है l रत्नो एवं लाल किताब के उपायों का चमत्कारिक प्रभाव देखा गया है l परन्तु शुद्ध रत्न कीमती और आसानी से नहीं मिलते इसके लिए उपरत्न जड़ी -बूटी, ग्रह से सम्बन्धित वस्तु का दान एवं जल प्रवाह करके कष्ट से बच सकते है l प्रस्तुत पुस्तक में इन सबका विस्तृत विवेचन किया गया है l
