“Nuances & Contradiction in Predictive Astrology”, the author has sought to delve into the finer aspects of predictive astrology through his work, which is indeed useful and informative not only to the persons at large but especially of immense value to young students/aspirants/learners of astrology. The book would serve as beacon of light for the freshers also. The book not only covers general area of the predictive astrology but also very useful to those who have serious interest in astrology.

A few of the unique features of the book are that of Kalpupurusha Concept- where placing of natal chart planets in the same sign as placed in Kalapurusha Chart have prooved into very accurate results as the same I applied in my own case.

The book has also covered the dasha system very well specially the Vimshotari Dashs with a number of examples through various chars. Yogni and Char Dashas are also well discussed in the book.

Under Chapter-X, in Part -B of the book discuss the contradictions in question and answer form with illustrative chart which is a unique effort by the author, we hardly find in any other work.

The present work is all the more laudatory since the author has taken special pains and time in penning his intense knowledge so succinctly, inspite of his hectic busy schedule and onerous work responsibilities.

• It is apparent, by way of writing and illustrative horoscopes, that the author has lived his research over time, with these horoscopes and spent considerable time, reflecting these and then putting it on paper, in various easy to understand way.
• This is the third book, in the series, from the Author. And it is very different in its treatment.
• But what is common link is writing style of the author and his ability to pack the punch in his trademark simple and easy to understand language.
• It covers areas not covered by the author in his earlier books or in such details, as covered here.
• From the beginning, the book positions itself as a text for the serious students of astrology.
• The book is structured in a way that represents, the natural progression of an astrological consultation.
• Typically, it is very rare for someone to come out and share his findings/ research in a very structured manner.

I can say so, being a student of astrology – each questions entail lots of deliberation and thinking and to have an opportunity to read , in such a format ( Q&A), so easily available , is really my delight.!!!

There are three important annexures, also at the end of book, incorporating the following, which provided additional information :
o A Glossary which helps to understand the terms used in the book
o Vivaha Chakra for marriage muhurt – on how to fix time for marriage
o Hora and its importance for routine activities of life

To summarize, I heartily recommend this book to all aspiring students and experts alike.

Sri Haraharan’s book is of a different kind and markedly different from many other astrology books available to keen readers, especially students. Sri Hariharan’s commentary is unique because he talks about the core issues which facilitates the practitioner in the delineation of the horoscope and drawing the correct inferences.
I found and am sure every reader of this work too will find that the author has skillfully created a template for horoscopic analysis. The author has highlighted and given tips on the use of Dasha, Ashtakavarga, Nadi and Transits and synced them together seamlessly. His approach to the Kalapurusha Horoscope is novel and throws a new angle for viewing.
The Vivaha Chakra, he has appended to his work, is definitely a freebie in the kit.
Sri Hariharan’s book, brings another dimension to light - that his father Late Sri H Bhuthalingam’s astrological genes have found words in print and the baton which the late master passed on to his worthy son has enabled him to create something special.
I would like to commend Sri Hariharan’s book to all keen astrologers - students and the practioners. Such books come once in a while. I will definitely keep it handy in my shelf for reference.

This treatise on astrology, the third of his series, is more than a book and is indeed mind boggling, as it goes into the depth of dissecting the kundali chart, from numerous angles, from rarely used star lord of planets, shadow planets, vargottama planets, retrograde nature of benefics and malefics, parivarthana between lords of dustaanas, debilitation/exaltation in dustaana, degree of progress of planets, all combined together in different chapters, with known rules and more importantly, based on author’s own experience, collated over the years. The dasa effects of planets are explained tersely with cogent reasons and ample illustrations, along with the impact of planetary transits.
Major life events like education, children, career/business are explained with the most important aspect on timing of events, often needed for each consultee. The chapter on the less used and often neglected “Kalapurusha” concept will act as stimulus, to further a student’s interests in exploring this rather difficult science besides enhancing his predictive abilities. Seemingly well-placed planets sometimes don’t give desired results, is aptly explained with examples, in this less trodden chapter.
Many astrologers are content and conversant with reading only the basic chart with appended navamsa. The author has ventured into taking up the innovative study of divisional charts ( a virgin area for further exploration), for more accurate reading of different facets of life, such as siblings, property, parents, career ups and downs, spouse, education. D charts or varga charts are more useful (than basic rasi chart) about specific aspects of life events, as they are carriers of subtle energy, seldom explored by present astrologers.
It is said by astrology savants, at least two dasha systems should be studied and integrated, for improving success in predictions. Most of us are familiar with vimshottari dasha only, remaining least aware of other equally effective dasha systems, such as kala chakra dasha, yogini dasha, mandook dasha to say a few. The author, an ardent lover of astrology, has given good exposition on these systems also, with demonstrable evidence.
Nuances of studies include his exploration into Nadi astrology, concept of Progressed (as opposed to fixed) lagna, utility of Astagavarga for transit effects. Separate chapters are given for tips for predicting important events like marriage, child birth, promotion in career, financial improvements, unforeseen risks in life.
Separate chapter on ‘contradictions in predictions’ is added to remove complexities in astrology, dealing with very good questions and solutions about subtle variations of planetary states and their effects due to vargottama, debilitation, retrogression, dig bala which will certainly baffle any student in the beginning only to become definite aids later. Various contradicting views on effectiveness of different yogas and time of fruition are deftly handled and explained in this highly valuable book.
The author has rightly concluded that astrology is a science of constant exploration and discovery. It is an evolving science and we evolve along with new discoveries, modern interpretation of traditional values and newer advanced techniques of interpretation.
